My Photographs

I have been taking picture for most of my life. First attempts were with a 127 Kodak Brownie with pop up viewfinder. I remember the disappointment when I spent all my saved pocket money to get those first eight black and white pictures back, a chicken disappearing out of frame, my father with no head etc. A Voigtländer folding bellows camera followed in my teens, and a Praktika SLR with M42 thread in my twenties. In my thirties I moved to Canon with two A1 bodies (one of which I still have, the other remained in Madrid with my best 50mm lens!). After this loss and now in my forties I purchased a Canon EOS 3, in my opinion one of the best prosumer film cameras ever made. In my fifties, digital began to call, firstly with a Kodak DC4800, then full on with a Canon EOS 20D. That lasted for three or four years and here I am now in my sixties with a Canon EOS 40D (and lusting after a full frame replacement). After all the 40D is nearly six years old.

After retirement I have a renewed interest in photography and have joined my local photographic society. I have had some reasonable success in competitions, but a joint second place is the best I have managed.

My first love is landscapes, followed by nature photographs.
